About the Managing Partner
Mr. Sell's career in business began in May, 1978 with International Data Group, Inc. as assistant to
one of the information technology industry's masterminds -- IDG Chairman Patrick McGovern. Through the years Bill has held
various posts in business development, marketing, public relations and telecom management.
Career highlights:
October, 2005 -- current: working as Publisher & Editorial Director of VON Media and Vice President & General
Manager, Events, Pulvermedia, Inc.. www.von.com or www.pulvermedia.com. Pulvermedia is the global leader for conferences and expos in the IP (Internet protocol) communications space. Pulvermedia
also publishes VON Magazine.
Mid-2004 -- current: Managing Partner, Advisor Communications. Our story is throughout this website.
2002 through mid-2004: Vice President, Brand and Customer Development for Hannover Fairs USA, Inc. including
developing the business plan for CeBIT America, the US-affiliate of world-renowed CeBIT trade fair.
1995 through early 2002, seven years as Vice President/General Manager of COMDEX Fall in Las Vegas,
the most influential technology event in the United States. During that period COMDEX was ranked "Largest tradeshow in the
USA" four times.
1993 through 1995: Vice President, Event Development at the World Trade Center Boston, a Fidelity Capital
Company. World Trade Center Boston is a premier conference and exposition venue in Boston's Seaport District.
1978 through 1993: International Data Group, Inc, and IDG World Expo. Positions included business
development, event management, marketing and public relations, content development, and telecom management.
